A visual introduction to Azure Kubernetes Service for anyone learning containers and Kubernetes from the beginning.
I created this eight-part visual guide to make Azure Kubernetes Service easier to understand without assuming prior Kubernetes knowledge. The series starts with the basic mental model, explains how AKS is structured, then walks through cluster components, application deployment, scaling, availability, security, and common use cases.
The goal is to establish a strong AKS foundation before moving into deeper topics such as advanced networking, workload identity, GitOps, observability, policy, service mesh, and production architecture.

About this resource
A beginner-first mental model for AKS.
Why I created these notes
AKS can feel difficult when Kubernetes terminology is introduced all at once. I created this guide to establish the mental model first, then progressively connect Kubernetes concepts to how Azure Kubernetes Service actually runs and manages applications.
What this project demonstrates
This resource demonstrates AKS fundamentals, Kubernetes architecture knowledge, container-platform concepts, scaling and availability fundamentals, security awareness, technical documentation, and the ability to explain cloud-native concepts visually to a beginner audience.
